dell inspirion 510m and pcmcia card

have a dell laptop with xp pro sp2.999 all the lastest updates etc.... with a pcmcia card installed. The thing is, the pcmcia cards is preventing the laptop from booting up sometimes plus, have the must up to date drivers installed for the card, any ideas on what to check??? thanks paul
