    Hi all,

I'm putting together a screensaver called 'Images of Wicklow' to celebrate Wicklow 400. If you have any photographs you'd like to submit or know of anyone please check out

    http://www.wicklow.com/news/?p=79

    Thanks.

aha, a response at least. So presumably you have some photographs taken in County Wicklow then?

Not to sound rude, but a photographer's gonna need an incentive to give photos to it! Will they be credited?

I modified the web page about credits. Now that I think of it, I just assumed this would be taken as a given but at least I know now.

If you go to www.wicklow.com/wicklowscreensaver (which is listed in the news link in my original post) you will see a video with a sample of the type of screensaver to be produced. all the photos on it are my own.

Landscapes, people, places, events - so long as they are from County Wicklow. That's it - no big mystery, no prizes, no competition, no big ta-da Ray D'arcy fame or fortune for sending in the photos and them going in a book. Just a small website with 8,000 visitors per month and probably lots of those visitors would thank you for sharing your Wicklow photos

The music is horrific. It's so bad, get rid of that, and make the photo transitions as follows..

fad in from black >> pan around (seein as you like that) >> fade to black ... the start again with new pic!

oh by the way, the music is very very bad!

Eh, you said that once already. You don't have to repeat thanks. The video is just a sample.

I don't need advice on how to create a screensaver either. I've made a lot of screensavers. The first one of Wicklow that I made available in 1999 was sold online and in shops locally. I sold close to 200 of those. This one will be available as a free download

I'm presuming you don't have any photographs to contribute so that's fine. You don't need to tear the arse out of the idea.

Id hardly say he did that in fairness, the music is blatantly horrible, anyone can see that. and the transissions could be better, but sher tus all constructive criticism and thats what ya get here like.

Saying it once is all fine. Repeating it in a second post is tearing the arse out of something in my book but then I suppose it is Shrimp so what should I expect. Also, I didn't put anything up for critical appraisal. It was simply a call for submissions for a screensaver. I would gladly then take advice on the finished product from those who were generous enough to provide some photographs for something worthwhile.

Can you direct me towards a photo screensaver that I could model mine on with (in your view) transitions done correctly?

What a clever idea dude, post on a bulletin board looking for photographs to put into a screensaver, then sell the screensaver to 200 people.

Most photographers on this board aint that stupid. You should be paying about €400 per photograph for non-exclusive use.

Read my posts. THIS IS A FREE DOWNLOAD in celebration of Wicklow 400.....

I said that I produced one MYSELF with MY OWN photographs in 1999 and put a huge effort into it and sold it online and in shops and I sold 200. I gave part of the proceeds to Concern.

It's just modern ones but many thanks for the offer.

If your Dad wants to put a news item on www.wicklow.com/news just let me know and I can put some information up about it.

You won't have to take my word on anything. The web page will be there as "evidence" that it is available as a free download. It will be linked from the County Wicklow Tourism website as a FREE download.

I don't like the fact that you are insinuating otherwise with your rolleyes smiley above.
