DrDre you can find the list of grinds that the SU provides on the website.

Go to www.ucdsu.net, click Education, and then Grinds File. If you still can't find anything there then email me at sueducation@ucd.ie and we'll see what we can do. I'm on holidays at the moment so might be marginally slower in replying.

Hi DrDre, I was in a bit of a Tizzy myself at xmas with Finance. I'm doing 3rd BBLS so did the same exams. I went to Peter Brady for grinds and although they were pricey (€30 a pop for a class with about 10/12 students) he was excellent. He provided notes and explained everything thoroughly. I ended up getting a 1st in the subject so he must have done something right. I'll look out his no. and PM you if I can find it.

I failed financial accounting last year and got grinds. They were awful, no help at all.
Them my friend who got some real high grade in it the year before helped me out and I managed to double my original score. Woot!

Grinds in two subjects for lots of money!

A logistical nightmare you might say!

In third comm now, all you need to get you through is Peter Brady's notes, you don't actually need his grinds, and someone always has his notes in your class for you to copy. (I can give you mine if you like) This Applies to his notes for second year economics too this semester (which is a bitch of a subject)

Financial accounting-get someone whose done leaving cert accounting to help you-anyone who did LC accounting always got firsts in financial accounting exams due to the fact that the LC was harder, (i speak from experience here)!!

Business logistics??!! an easy subject, why did you fail??!! All you need to do is study it, especially the formulae/maths-type qs-doubt you'll need/be able to get grinds in this subject.

I agree with most of that. Don't get grinds in Logistics whatever you do. Just spend a reasonable amount of time studying it yourself and you'll fly through it. I would recommend getting the grinds with Brady if you dont have a clue abou the subject. For accounting, his notes should suffice though. With finance however, I thought the grinds were highly beneficial.
    Good luck
