Sky box recommendations

My ancient Grundig Sky box is continually crashing, so I am going to purchase another on E-bay. I don't subscribe to Sky any more.

    So, a few questions:

Any recommendations for box types I should purchase?

I have a UK FTV card - can I just put this into any Sky box I buy?

Finally, I see some Sky+ boxes - is there any point in me buying one, given I will never subscribe to Sky and I would only use it with the FTV card?

Panasonic and pace are good ,DSB 40 and pace 430N , no point in going sky + for ftv

Unless the Sky+ is not too expensive and you think that when SkyHD is launched they abolish the recording rental? Bit of a gamble.

I'd imagine that even if Sky did drop the recording rental, they'd still probably only allow recording to those with active subscriptions (if only).

    You need a UK address.

Was this from a private seller? I can only assume so, doubt Sky sell cards on eBay!

    Try a different seller maybe.

Was this the seller e-mailing you or eBay cancelling an auction and sent out an e-mail explaining why? I've never experienced the former, but I've experienced the latter.

You shouldn't have any problems with buying an FTV card on eBay. Most of the sellers realise the market is overseas.
