THIS IS PURELY A FICTIONAL SCENERIO.

Suppose a service such as broadband was subscribed to and later on you terminate the service. What happens if the service provider has a techical problem and the service is still on and the provider isnt aware of it and stops billing for the service.

    1. If the provider is made aware of issue and takes no action can the service be used?
    2. If the provider isnt made aware of the situation and discovers the problem what can the service provider do to anyone using the service.
    3. Is there any circumstance given the limited information available that the service can be used that has been unsubscribed to.
    4. Can the service provider use information such as usage logs to prove use or can it be said they are in breach of the data protection act.

interesting fiction I know some service providers have software to deal with such situations and can see what you do I presume they can take legal action to shut you down and possibly charge you in I beleive they will allow to watch voyeurism

Thanks for the reply but it doesnt really answer my question. I dont think they have factilies to audit the use of there broadband products yet there's been quite a few mess ups mainly down do bad IT infrasturture with broadband.

If they in the senerio do find out how screwed would you be? Is there anything u could do to defend yourself?
