    Hi all

I'm wondering could someone recommend a network attached storage device something like the Netgear SC101 http://www.netgear.com/products/details/SC101.php

Something cheap and cheerful (and reliable)???

    Thanks

    Komplett's offerings.

"cheap" ... heh. Relatively cheap more like it. What's your budget?
The "Linksys Network Storage Link for USB 2.0 hard drives" perhaps.

I can't verify the reliability for any of them-I've no personal experience. I remember one or two people said they have the Linksys' link on Boards.ie.

Well relatively cheap will suffice. I don't want to use the Linksys device because it means buying an external usb drive and connecting. The netgear one is an enclosure for two ata hard drives, with an ethernet port and usb. But i've read a couple of bad reviews but otherwise I suppose it's exactly what I'm looking for. I seen the Netgear for €120 in IT Direct the other day, without any hard drive so again it's relatively cheap. So if there was something really like it or if anyone has used one and liked it????

I've just bought the Netgear SC101 but haven't got any drives for it yet (don't ask...). I've read on their forums that as long as you keep it cool you'll be flying it. Some people even mod the case to attach a fan... Can't wait to get my hands on some drives now...

I noticed there was a list of compatible hard drives on the Netgear forum too, which is not a good sign. I'd love to chance the Netear but it's not actually for me so I dunno.

if you wanted to go really mad you could invest in a buffalo terasation. But I suspect that would kill your budget.
