Considering Rambus is a niche item I wouldn't consider it a bad price unless you can find it at a lower price somewhere else.

Shop4memory still stocks a variety of Rambus RIMM's

    dictionary.com says:

    6 entries found for niche.

    2. A special area of demand for a product or service: “One niche that is approaching mass-market proportions is held by regional magazines” (Brad Edmondson).

Rambus was a competitor to DDR when computers were being changed over from slower SD-ram, but DDR won the race, and so many manufacturers dropped rambus and used DDR as standard instead. becuase of this memory manufacturers stopped making rambus, so if you do manage to get any its probably whats left over in some warehouse somewhere.

I'm in the same boat. Its expensive stuff, i need 512mb and recon i'm better off getting a new computer.
Ebay would be your best bet. You could prob get 2x128 there for €65, cheaper if your willing to take secondhand.
