Playing Fitz friday night 1-2 round of each

in MP i raise with AK hearts 12bills or so
both blinds and player directly under me call's
Flop is 3rags 358 2 hearts checked to me I bet pot and blinds fold and our friend calls

our friend is decent enough player doing well
I have seen him make a couple of good marginal calls and I think lay down a good hand he hinks might be dominated

Turn is another rag heart giving me the nuts and our friend leads out for 100 bills

I have 270 in front of me our friend slightly more

How do you play to get best payout

    270 including the 100?

What is pot size now? 100? If 100 then just push - he would have to call 170 to win 470, so he is often committed with anything good.

I think this is a stab at the pot, I cant see him having more than two overcards with a flush draw(probably has king of hearts) and he probably puts you on an overpair and is using the scare card to bluff at it. Id call and hope he takes another stab at it on the river or improve his hand and then push.

If you push on the turn and he has nothing he folds and if he has something he'll probably call on the river anyway plus you give him a chance to improve.

    Yup 270 including 100

    push will cost him 170

pot is 490 if i push

I prefer calling than pushing here. If he's agressive, he's more likley to fire another shot on the river. I dont think you're going to get paid off by pushing in this spot.

If you call here you might lose action if he's holding a set. He may check fold this on the river whereas he's more likely to call with a set on the turn given the size of the pot.

Tbh I'd be surprised if he was holding anything other than a flush at this point given the action, so I'd push here every time.

    So Qh JH i push
    A set i also push ? or i call ?

    Anthing worse i call

Pot is too big to do anything other than push. Calling to see a river can prove counter-productive here. Just get your money in, and hope he calls.

The bet looks like a made flush, its certainly not speculative (Because you have both the high hearts), so he probably has enough hand to call for the last 170 (getting ~3:1).

You push, expecting him to call (getting slightly bad odds), but not minding if he lays down (cos he would have 10 live outs), and the pot is big.

Push in both cases. If he has 55 and the river comes a heart, you will lose him.
If he has QhJh, and the board pairs, you may lose him, so push and you virtually guarantee a call.

It depends on the villain though. If he's aggressive then checking is right. If not then pushing is probably better.

If he's a good player I don't think he'll call a push and i think he'll check fold the river as well.

I have him down as a good player
I put him on the flush and afraid of a heart on turn counterfeiting his hand i pushed

He laid down showing set of 5s

Which i think a lot of players call with but goodish lay down

I was a little annoyed not been able to get paid with my Nuts in the Fitz
and wondered if calling would have been better

but i tend to agree he check folds the river so push might get a call but call doesnt extract any extra money and he gets a free shot at his 10 cards

Its not free !! he has paid for it.

However you *must* call for your last 170 regardless of what the river is. So he is getting free implied odds, if he can check/fold unimproved.

Pot:stack ratio is too small - just put your money in.

Be aware you had the nuts on the turn, not the river. If he misses a boat/quads on the river, he's more than likely check-folding.

If he's very aggressive, then its worth flat calling the turn

You have to push here, if you call you just shout out what you have.

He'll check fold anything that doesn't beat you on the river. (i.e. if the board doesn't pair up), whereas if you push here you have a good chance that he will call, with either a set or a smaller flush, but on the river there's no chance he'll call with a set, and a reduced chance he'll call with a lesser flush.

push, if he has Qh and a pair, or QQ with Qh he might call, hoping to improve.
(chances are no heart on river)

If he has a set he might call hoping to fill up (or hoping hes ahead now).

If he has has a set and a 4th heart comes, u get no action.
If he has a set and the board pairs, u get action u dont want.

There is more chance of getting action now when u are ahead.
On the river, there is more chance of only getting action should u go behind.

There's only €170 left, this is an easy push. I wouldn't fold a set here, and probably not on the river either, unless it comes a fourth heart.

You call with a set on the river even if he flat calls leaving €170 behind and you don't think he's a donkey??

Well i guess that was you then

Lets stop guessing do you bet or call a non heart river if i call

    Be honest :)

Let's find out if he puts any money, period, into the pot without housing up on the river if you call???

You limp and call a raise out of position with 55 in the Fitz 50 game. Flop is 358, two hearts. You check, the raiser bets the pot €50 and you call. The turn is the ten of hearts. You bet 2/3 of the pot, €100, and he thinks and calls. The river is the king of clubs. There is €350 in the pot and you have €170 left. What do you do?

Surely you push. Even check calling loses value, he can easily check behind with something like QQ one heart. Not getting it in here is mental.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,537 ✭✭✭Ste05

Well if your planning on check calling then it's an obvious push, but what I'm talking about is Check Folding. You've bet 2/3 Pot to on the turn and the Pre-Flop raiser Calls for a large % of his stack. What do you think he has? He's not in anyway afraid of the possible flush on the board. There's no High cards out, so all you beat realistically is an over pair. And seeing as you don't think he's a donkey do you think he'll call in this spot with a bare Over Pair?? (or a madly played A10??)

That's why I think the push on the turn is the only possible move. If he calls here it just screams the nuts. A push also shouts the nuts but not quite so loudly.

And as we can see BD got away from it. I'd say he'd have got away from it on the River too if he didn't house up.

Yes. Especially if it has a heart.
