DivX player question

Quick question, if I have a DivX player and want to burn divX AVI's to DVD to view on it do I need to run the AVI through any type of conversion or can I just burn it straight to a DVD. If so what software is recommended for this purpose? At the moment I'm using DivXtoDVD and DVDShrink to burn a DVD.

If you have a DivX Player then you should be able to burn your DivX movies to a DVD disk and watch them directly. No need for conversion. You are talking about a stand alond DivX player aren't you?
