DDS Tape Cleaning

    Hi anyone know anything about old DDS3 tape drives? Have a HP one in an old server and the backups are failing often giving the message as needing to be cleaned. Its a new client with a fairly old sever but they dont have any need to replace it. I bought a HP cleaning tape but cant find any software utils to do the actual cleaning job. When I load the tape it spins up and ejects after about 15 seconds. Someone I spoke to said all you have to do is put in the tape, it spins up once and thats it, job done, is that true?

    Yep just push the tape in and it will spit it out when it's finished.
