    Hey.
Basically last week i dropped my iriver H320 on the ground (didn't get wet or anything). It worked until i turned it off about half an hour later. When i turned it back on two hours after that the screen read 000 folders 000 files. The files remain stored on the hard drive of the player (can be played through a computer) but nothing can be accessed though the player itself.

I could really do with some help on this...
    Thanks.

Did you try updating the firmware? Might fix it.

Can you still access the menus and options?

yeah i downloaded the latest firmware but whe i select YES for firmware upgrade on the player nothing happens. Any idea why this would occur?

Have you tried resetting the iRiver? Possibly the hard drive connection is loose. Have a look at www.misticriver.net

If you copy a new file to the H320, will that file play?

No, that was the first thing i tried, new files will show up on the hard drive when connected to the computer but will not show up when the player is turned on on its own. Also im getting loads of cyclic redundancy errors when attempting to transfer files from the iriver to my computer. Anyone know what causes these?

Misticriver's the place to go as usual, these two guys had the same problem as you.
Best of luck with it !

Yeah tried the checkdisk thing as it says in that post but after 20 something hours it had not even completed phase 1. I'v run out of options i think at this stage. It's under gaurantee so hopefully i'll get it replaced...

... Just don't tell them you dropped it!

Tell them it "...uh, just suddenly went like that..."

Yeah theres no visible marks on the player so hopefully i'll get away with it. My main problem now is that Im getting cyclic redundancy errors on about 2 songs off most albums as i try to transfer from iriver to computer. Probably gonna hav to resign myself to losing some music. I cant really see a way around this, the checkdisk seems to be taking days to complete and that was my only way of attempting to repair the files.... oh well

I had the EXACT same problem as you, except I didn't drop mine it just seemed to happen one day (christmas morning actually!)
I tried everything suggested on the misticriver forums but nothing worked so unfortunatly I had to return in to Peats and they got me a brand new replacement in a couple of weeks. As long as you have the receipt and warranty you're grand. Twas a pain re-encoding 38gbs of music again though!
