MMA League 2006 First Round - Galway

The League is back for 2006 and I have to wish a very big thank you to all the competitors that made the trek to NUI, Galway this past Saturday. The first round of the brand new MMA League proved to be the second largest league event to date with 61 competitors in total. As always the level of sportsmanship was second to none and everyone enjoyed a fun day of Mixed Martial Arts.

I need to thank a number of people for their help in getting the event running -
Padraigin Ni Chonfhaola and John Bilbow for making sure all competitors were ready to go and keeping the day moving. Tim Murphy, Tom Haddock and John Walsh for reffing and calling it straight down the line! Rory Leonard for admin work on the day and a host of logistical work leading up to the event. Damien Watters for helping with the result and time keeping and Sean Leonard for working the camera all day and slave labor the night before on the DVDs and T Shirts.

The League moves to the city of Limerick for the Second Round on the 22nd of April in UL Sports Complex, the website will be updated in the next week with entry information.
