What are you giving up for Lent?

With Ash Wednesday just a few days away, I'm just wondering if people are going to do the time honoured tradition of 'giving something up for Lent'?

I know some are probably not very religious, but I've often used Lent as an excuse to give up the drink, or to help me along on a diet (as I am AGAIN! this year!)

So, for me anyway, I'm giving up (in no particular order)
    Boys
    Drink
    Chocolate/sweets/cakes
    Crisps

Anyone else going to try and do what they didn't manage in their New Years' Resolution?

I was gonna try to give up Not Studying, but then I figured, since I haven't managed this in the last 4 Lents and 5 New Yr Resolutions, there ain't much point lying to myself anymore.

So I guess you could say that I'm giving up giving up not studying for Lent. (phew)

    sweet **** all.

i barely drink enough these days to warrant giving it up - a six pack/couple of pints over the weekend and nowt during the week
i guess giving up being such a pussy when it comes to asking women out would be a start though... (ties in with my so far failed new year's resolution)

Normally never give up anything, but suppose could count the fact that gave up work car parking ticket, so gonna walk to work instead and save some spondules for the weekends :D

Don't forget, you can DO things for Lent as well that you might not normally do. It can be made a time to help others e.g. do some volunteering in a charity shop or something.

I am thinking about giving up drink. I dont drink that often, maybe once a week, maybe once a fortnight, but when I do drink, I drink a hell of a lot. (woke up saturday, didn't know where I was, and I have no memory of going to the house, climbing up the stairs, getting into bed - NOTHING)
So, maybe, from a health perspective it might be good thing for me to jack it in for a while.
Only problem is, I am a real 'social butterfly' and I know I will find it difficult to be out with my pals in a club and not to drink anything.

Mmmmm, Sure I can only do my best.

Ah jaysus, Colin Farrell, how are ya?

I'm giving up giving up things, a waste of time, like New Years resolutions, as I have no willpower whatsoever.

    I am weak.

Why do people bother thinking of anything to give up for Lent when they never really put much of an effort into giving it up. It's pointless. If you say you're gonna do something, then do it! That really bugs me!!
