Man, i had got my balance from €10 up to €260 after a few months and then changed my style of play after listening to the pro's on t.v. I then proceeded to lose all my cash in the space of a week!! Back to my old ways again now and things are going a bit better again. Just goes to show, a bit of good advise to a bad player (me) can have catastrophic consecuences :D

Very hard for average players to benefit from advanced plays that professionals would use, you cant just watch Ronnie O Sullivan make a 147 twenty times and then expect to make one yourself.

Likewise watching professional poker on TV and expecting to be able to make the same moves doesnt work........:D

Just came 4th in a single table tournament for 3rd time (payout top 3) It's funny, one week you win all the time the next you lose all the time. Can be frustrating but i suppose thats what makes poker the exciting game it is

It's all Variance, although Bubble strategy is particularly important. Nothing wrong with Bubbling if you're trying to get into a position to win the whole thing. Just remember 1 First and 2 Bubbles is better than 3 Thirds!!!

Only if winning less money is regarded as 'better'. :v: :v: :v:
3 Thirds is actually better than 1 First.
But in general you are right, bubble strategy is hugely important.

    LOL - D'oh , too quick with the maths ... :o

OK re-phrase that to 2 Firsts and 2 bubbles is better than 4 thirds...

Ok, what is bubbling? At a guess id say you mean playing very tight when near the money positions so u dont go away empty handed?

    Bananaman,
The Bubble is when X places are paid and X+1 players remain, one poor sod will get nothing.
Bubble Strategy is how you play at that time, some people tighten up, others loosen up because they know others will tighten up.
Bubbling means being the poor sod who gets nothing.
Hope that helps, though HJs Fractal Art probably explained it better than me.
