its so that if they send u an email, they can check if it was sent properly and the attachments didnt get corrupted or mixed up or anything.

    ps who cares like?

I carbon copy (CC) myself on every email that I send from the web interface of my mail server (if I'm, say, in work or in a net café or something) so that I'll have a copy of it in Outlook when I get home. Nothing strange about it. Why, as has been asked, would it bug you so?

Perhaps they should BCC (blind carbon copy) themselves, then you'd never know...

What i hate more is getting those forwards where you have to go through 12 different e-mails attached to get to the source....!

Or also jokes forwarded with each line preceded by "> > >" etc.

No, but I can't STAND people who refer to people as "ppl". I always want to staple their fingers together.

indeed. you have a full qwerty keyboard in front you and a 10,000 character limit. there is no need for short hand or text speak.

Why did you feel the need to define those acronyms?

For people that don't know what they mean, perhaps.

Any important mail I send while in work I CC to myself. Both to verify it sent correctly and to have a copy if it's needed later.

I was - and still am - in a very bad mood. The pedantry annoyed me.

ok i have come to conclusion. CC'ing of one-self is not the issue, the issue i actually have is with the PPL who sent them mail in the first place! Yes its true, I dont really like those PPL plus i also feel that my perception of those PPL is that they are really dumb PPL. So in effect im actually cured, i dont have an issue with that type of cc'ing at all! Its the PPL i have an issue with it! I hope u PPL dont think bad of me for my little rant!

Btw i was in need of a good BJ before i put up my original post. BJ complete and all is well again!

PPL please excuse u while i try to take these staples outta my fingers... ;)

That would be a very good idea.

I bcc to myself any important email I send. Like I'm applying for jobs right now so I need to make sure the email sent, the attachment worked etc.

I always bcc myself. Unless I'm sending on a joke email to a load of different people in which case I bcc all of them and send it just to myself to reduce the number of addresses that get copied around the interweb.

    Stupid question.

So that people who didn't know at first, will now know what it means. Duh!

By the way - who's being more pedantic? The person who defined the acronyms or the person who whinged about what he saw as the lack of necessity to define acronyms?
