I'm looking for a good case to use with just the body and lense kit. I have a bag for all the other bits & pieces but thats a bit large for just heading out with the family etc.

I bought the canon 350d case but its a pain in the arse. part of it fixes to the body which then needs to be removed when using a tripod. the case it self has no straps or belt hoops.

so what are other 300/350 owners using for their cameras?

Best cases for me are LowePro's. But there are many models and nno everyone has the same needs. Check out at your local camera shops and try by yourself.
I have a LowePro CompuTrekker, looks like a backpack and holds with no problem my Canon 300D with batterygrip and a 24-70 lens attached to it, plus a 70-200, 16-35, flashlight 550EX, filters, batteries and my laptop.
There is a bag for every need in LowePro's catalogue, as you can see I'm a fan :D

I have something like that already. I'm just looking for a case for the body with the kit lense.

I'll check out the local places tomorrow.

    Hi,

I recently got a Cannon 350D, like you I got a big bag to hold the camera and lens's, as part of the kit, too big off course.

I opted for the Lowepro TLZ Mini, which snugly fits the camera with the 18-55 lense, has a pocket for lense cap/ CF cards, It's nciely padded so you can feel confortable leaving your camera in most place's.
Case was €22 from the Camera exchange off suffolk street/ Andrews lane Dublin.

I had orignally wanted to get something like one of those leather ones that are almost part of the camera, like a skin; but decided I would probably end up buying a padded case anyway to carry the camera when travelling.

Let us know what you go for.

I finally got in today and like the lowerpro range so much that I bought 2. I got the Micro Trekker 100 (79€)to replace the larger bag I have and I bought the Rezo TLZ 10 (24€). picked up some UV filters and a cleaning kit too while i was there.

I have the Lowepro Rover AW II as I do a lot of hiking and outdoor stuff ... It has a nice feature of combining backpack with Camera bag and hold lots of gear as well as being airline hand luggage freindly ... got it from Gunn's of Wexford Street for about €110 ... Conns wanted €160 for the same bag ...
