    Playtoh. www.playtoh.ie
Playtoh have something to say. Their catchy, hook filled debut album was packed with 'youthful enthusiasm', they were after all written at 19 years of age. Now they are 4 years on and see the world slightly differently.
Bolstered by the chance finding of a touring Austrian drummer Timon, the instant Velcro-isity of his personality and the 'cool' that he exudes the trio of Brian, Niall and Cormac realised that PlaytOh could do this as a four piece. This new found enthusiasm resulted in an almost automatic direction change for the band. Whilst keeping the catchy element to their hooks they began to write song that represented something an awful lot more than their debut Fountain 2am did to them. What resulted is an ever developing group of darker indie songs that rival the best.

    Hope is Noise. www.hopeisnoise.com
Originally formed in 2002, the band were then known as The New Messiahs. On the strength of the debut demo (which won Demo of the Fornight in Hotpress, July 2003, and Best Hotpress First Cut, Red fm), the cork outfit began gigging furiously, headlining their own shows in Cork as well as gaining support slots with the likes of Blink, The Revs, Berkley and Antiproduct. However, the start of 2005 resulted in the band deciding that a change in name was needed.
Where once the band's emphasis was on the use of twin vocalists, the sole responsibility is now been undertaken by guitarist Dan. This and the wall of sonic melodies created by the use of the dual guitars, always complimented by the catchiest of choruses, are the band's forte.

    Kudos. www.kudosonline.net
The unsigned, Cork-based Rock group Kudos was formed in 2001. The band began to play live gigs performing covers as well as original material. In May of 2002 the band finally settled on the name Kudos, after much deliberation.
Since their formation, Kudos have played regularly in Cork in such venues as the Triskel Arts Centre, Nancy Spains, The Spailpin Fanach, Tiki Lounge, Cyprus Avenue & The Ambassador Theatre Dublin. As working session musicians individual members have played The Opera House, The Everyman Palace Theatre, The Lobby, Ryles Jazz Club, Boston, US and the Berklee Performance Centre, Boston.

Drop-D is a national online music magazine dedicated to giving the appropriate resources to musicians, dedicated to giving musicians a voice. Drop-D writes about the Irish Homegrown musicians, lists national gigs/events, provides a directory of who is who in the Irish Industry and offers a online community forum to musicians at www.drop-d.ie
