I remember someone telling me of a way to check if any of your msn contacts have you blocked but never got around to trying it.

Does anyone know if it works and how to do it?

If they don't reply to you then you might be blocked, or they just don't like you. ;)

    Yeah that's really relevant.

    Well done Robin.

damn. i can't remember who it was, but i was looking over the msn group conversation i was part of while sleeping earlier and the url kept popping up. i think the programme contains some form of malware. be careful.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,673 ✭✭✭✭senordingdong

    Thanks for the warning.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,744 ✭✭✭StupidLikeAFox

It does, but ya can also download a tool to remove it, so basically download the program, download the tool, remove the ad thingy, hot diggity your a super spy!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 26,061 ✭✭✭✭Terry

i'll let someone else try it first. :D

From what I've heard you don't even get to see who has blocked you in the end. the whole thing is a virus. Stay clear of it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,440 ✭✭✭Dizzyblabla

Windows Defender deleted it on sight! it didn't like it at all at all....

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,673 ✭✭✭✭senordingdong

Hmmm...well I googled it in the end, under 'block checker' and this was the first of many similar looking links I got.

I clicked this and it seems to do the trick, don;t even have to download anything.

I think block-checker.com is the URL for the No No one.

well man, i know how to check, its easy as pie, but tbh, i think people as desperate as u seem, and people that use delivery reports on their phones to "see if she got my txt and why...why hasnt she replied" are amonst the lowest of the low and need to be eradicated from the male species....if not from society as a whole. :D

yeah. just checked my message log and this is what kept popping up:
Did you know you can find out who blocked you on MSN? Check it out, it's free http://www.block-checker.com

to be avoided at all costs.

It is possibly the worst thing on the internet ever, more people have blocked me because they get so annoyed at the automatically generated ad that pops up during conversations than before i'd ever heard of the ****ing thing.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 844 ✭✭✭casanova_kid

The answer to this is using the factory default option Casa.
Make sure you have yourself covered of course, and you have whatever you need to re-install the other software you have now.
I'm computer illiterate, I don't understand a word you just said. My brother downloaded the thing, so I'll just give him a dead leg.

The 'block detection' bug was fixed in some earlier version of msn so I dont think its possible anymore. The best you can do is a bit of social engineering, i.e. ask your mates.

He/She's right. I downloaded it a while back and it doesn't work, it's just one big virus that slows down the speed of your computer a lot and is kinda tricky to get rid of.

Why dont you just do this,

Tools, Options, Privacy, then click on View to see who has you on their contact list or more importantly who doesnt!!

Why not just register another MSN address, login under that, and add the suspected user. See if they popup as online!

Because the way I already decided (on the last page I might add) is far simpler.

    http://www.msgweb.nl/en/MSN_Articles/Blockcheckers/

    specifically:
    "Do blockcheckers work?

Quite some time ago there was a little flaw in the MSN protocol. Blockcheckers used this bug to obtain the contact's status. Nowadays however, this is impossible, because the bug has been fixed. Blockcheckers will never work 100% correct anymore. So even when a website states their blockcheckers is flawless, it will not work. Probably the website just hasn't been updated for a while."
