I've heard these can be troublesome ****** alright, I intalled it on my computer at home & recorded some cds, then today I spent over 3 hrs & 10 quid in an internet cafe downloading stuff, even though it's all stored in my library I'm getting an error on my mp3 player now - "cannot play track on this device"

An authorisation message keeps popping up but then when I get redirected to the connect page somethng about being situated outside the US comes up. It was version 2.1 I was using initially & 3.4 in the internet cafe, is this whats the problem?

    Any help? Cheers

Unfortunately you are a victim of rampant DRM, your problems started when you bought a DRM crippled player, you will probably find that you will have to re-download, if possible download as normal mp3 or ogg with all of that spawn of "home taping is killing music" (that happened didn't it) malarkey turned off. You will find that sonicstage is practically useless for anything but restricting your ability to transfer your music and notifying sony of your musical habits.

There is alternative software out for most players, and alternate legal sources for most music, a combination of the two will probably be a pain to setup in the short term but will save you the grief of always wondering if you will be allowed to listen to the music you bought.
I suggest a non crippled player for your next purchase :)
