How to make friends in Maynooth?

Hi everyone. I've just recently moved to Maynooth and the usual way people make friends like college (I'm not in college), work (I work with one other person, she's 50!), housemates (2 guys that work shifts and are never there, I've only met them twice in 2 weeks). I moved here for a job but other than work I have no life and nothing to do here. I don't even have someone to ring up just to go for a quick pint. I'm a girl in my mid twenties by the way and thought it would be easy enough to make friends here but I can't exactly go up to strangers and make them talk to me. Any help?

    Welcome to Maynooth Summer!

If you play sport, the GAA club has a Ladies football & camogie team.
They're a good crowd of people for socialising with.

Maybe if you posted a bit more about your interests you'll get more back.

Hmmm, it can be difficult enough, if you're not in college or didn't go to it. But you could always join a club as suggested or the gym or even a night class, or go and talk to strangers some of them might not be so strange, no doubt Clarebear will offer you some form of social outlet she's great like that...

What he's trying to say there is that I'm an alcoholic ;) Just kidding....I'd suggest moving out and finding some sound new housemates....they'll introduce you to their mates and the sky's the limit....
