Can't belive the Gibson Les Paul prices on the website. Was looking at a LP classic and it's going for 118,000 Yen which equates to 850Euro. With customs on top it would work out close to a grand. Am i right??....really cheap eh?

Add about €120 for shipping, maybe €250 tax and import duty and you're safe. Yes, it's a lot cheaper than that place on Georges street :v:

excellent....those classics are 1700 smackers up my neck of the woods. I think i'll have to get one. At that price you can't go wrong eh?....so you think 850+250tax ??

    850 + shipping + tax

Check the import duty calculator in the instrument resources sticky. It'll give you a pretty accurate figure.

still cheap...no information on date of manufacture or anything like that. IS there any way to translate the whole page into English?

I dont know about the translations. Its also hard to link to a page on Ishibashi. I suggest you drop them an email at web-shop@ishibashi.co.jp and ask them any specific questions. They're very helpful.

I was thinking of getting a Gibson ES335 from them, but it didnt seem that much cheaper than buying fron Thomann.

    Maybe i mis calculated.

True enough. Just priced an SG STD and on Thomann it's roughly 1320 all in. Same guitar from Japan comes in at 1390 incl shipping/taxes....2nd hand stuff seems like a good deal though from Japan. Never bought a guitar without picking it up first but at their prices it's so tempting.

New guitars that are made in Japan like Ibanez and Fender Japan are probably cheaper from Ishibashi. USA-made guits are not so cheap.

Exactly. Their PRS's cost a fortune. Generally, the more peoples hands something passes through, the more youre gonna pay..

I not interested in gibsons enough to check the US prices, but id imagine thats where youd get the best value, if it wasnt for the fact that youd be paying tax twice...similarly, youd get a marshall much cheaper in the uk than thomann (compare gak.co.uk to thomann)

well someone pinched the les paul classic i was interested in. Then i was looking at a STD ...someone snatched it up. I then went down to a music store and picked up a Les Paul and realized i didn't want one as much as i thought. I picked up a Yamaha SB1000 and it's twice the guitar for 1/2 the price. I'm getting one of those!!!

Makes sense to me :D . Go for it (and dont forget the pix. )

If thats an sg1000 youre talking about, theyre a grand guitar, big slab of mahongany, maple cap, very well made, cant really go wrong. Santana used them for a while, pre his PRS days
