2 moitors, one PC. Advice

    Morning All,

I have a set up at home where my plasma has both the usual NTL and PS2, but also acts as our monitor for the PC. Which is great.

But the problem I have is that if I'm on the PS2 and my wife wants to watch the TV or use the PC, we screwed. One of us has to back down. Also my wife feels that although the screen is big (42") it is hard for her to use as a PC as our sofa is about 8 meters away.

One solution I have thought of would be to run two monitors from the PC. One would be the Plasma, we need to do this as there is a lot of or movies are on the PC, and we'll soon be running the NTL into it.
I would like to have the other monitor (standard 15-17 flat) wall mounted next to the sofa on a swivel arm, so that it can be pulled out and be pulled out when needed.

Can any one recommend how to have 2 screens running from one pc.

Also would I have to run a lead across the room, or is their a wire less way to send the picture from PC to Monitor (long shot I know)

And/or if any one else has another solution, please let me know.

    Thanks in advance,

    Pip

Don't think wireless is possible. With dual-port gfx you can have your media player on the one screen all the time and have your taskbar and other apps on the smaller screen.

Get another monitor and a tv card, use the pc as the tv.
    NTl into PLasma and PC
    Ps2 into PLasma
    PC into Plasma and monitor.
Or get a small tv in the kitchen and tell her to feck off and bake something while your playing:D

Get a tv tuner for PC and set up TV as monitor. Not too sure what KdjaC means by plasma *and* PC.

    Lol

NTL into Plasma via Scart and into PC via Tv Tuner card (€40 max for internal, PC world have a USB tv card for €30 does the job and its cheaper than anywhere on the net) using Coaxial.
So you can play PS2(dvd player) on the the plasma the missus can watch tv on the monitor. Assuming the tv has only 2 scarts get a Scart block (€10) if you have a dvd player and need an additional scart input.

Ps2 goes into the plasma tru scart/ DVD player would also go in this way.

Pc can go into the monitor via normal VGA and into plasma via HDMI (all modern graphics cards support both HDMI and VGA)

That would be the easiest setup i would imagine.

If you only have one graphics card and one output, you can always add extra monitors using NVidia NVS 280 PCI cards.

I have three running of my main computer now ;-)
