Possible spoiler for anyone that doesn't know the background to Venom.

It's most likely Spiderman wearing the Venom suit which he does in the original story. I think we'll see Spiderman in his original suit at the start of the film. Then he'll acquire the Venom suit. Then he'll realise the true nature of the Venom suit( it's really an alien symbiote ). He'll ditch the suit and it will go on to form Venom with Eddie Brock( Topher Grace's character ).

heeheehee, excellent - am watching the animated series atm and its great - that is pure as a suit though - the symbiote spidey suit is much better in the cartoon imo.

I hope that's not the Venom suit; they should make it a bit different rather than just paint the original spiderman suit!

don't know spidey lore but maybe the suit starts off looking similar to his own to trick them changes to the venom look

Well in the comic it always looked the way it looks on Venom... except without the big mouth and tounge.

Never liked the idea very much... I never thought aliens had much of a place in the Spider-man universe and I stopped reading the comic around the time they started with the venom storyline.

It still looks like Sandman is going to be the main bad guy in this, which should be very good. They've also cast Bryce Dallas Howard out of the Village as Gwen Stacy, could be interesting to see where they go with that one.

Oh, and apparently they've been trying out different Goblin masks with James Franco so we're likely to see some Green Goblin II action.

Gwen Stacy was blonde in the comics though, so they may have to dye Dallas' hair. Oh... and she's also dead in the comics... having been the one that the Green Goblin drops off the bridge and not Mary Jane like in the film.

It's funny.. I think Kirsten Dunst should be playing Gwen Stacy and Byrce Dallas Howard should be Mary Jane...

Mary Jane was always the more tomboy type character, while Gewn was very glamourous.

And just think of all the money they could have saved themselves on hair dye.

When I saw this picture I was delighted. I like the venom storyline - but I hope the suit gets a bit more 'venomified' too.

Pity the film won't be out for so long but it probably means its getting the attention and work it deserves.
