I wish to copy the global address list I have on my home Pc outlook to another computer . Where is the file for the global address list located on the PC.

If I cant access the file is there a way i can access it directly and copy it from outlook to a cd?

by "global address list " i presume you mean you contacts?

if so go to file-import and export ,
    select export to a file
    click next
select the format for the export (this depends on what you want to do with it, excell will prov wortk)
    click next
select the folder to export, which is prob just called contacts
    click next
    select destination

and hey presto you have exported your contacts to a file.

this can be copied to the other pc and imported into outlook on that pc if required.

i hope thats what you wanted to do :)

Don't forget that exchange stores address in X400 format not SMTP. So the addresses are only of use to someone on the same exchange server. You can create a outlook address book, set it as default and then highlight all the addresses in the GAL and right click add to contacts.

To get around the X400 problem. To export exchange addresses in smtp format for use by third parties you have to then open the outlook address book in Outlook Express and then re export as a PAB or something. Oh and the headers are different in Exchange, OE, Outlook in case you were going to try a CSV export/import.
