    you wont be
I switched at 27 after working in IT for years after gradually having the life and soul torn from me by US companies.
Now Im working as a mechanic doing something i really enjoy.

It's never too late and if u dont like what you choose you can always change again!...... or fall back on your previous skills and experience.

If you're thinking about it.... DO IT!!!

In the same boat as Kinda Lost!

I was in software sales for years and then 2 years back moved into furniture, for the change. All was great for a year, but soon got sick and board of the whole sales thing.
Lat year we moved into a new house and the garden was a gig pile of mud. Over a few months I transformed it to be the envy of all our neighbours. Whilst doing it I realized I had a passion for landscaping and gardening.

Now a year later I really want to make the move to that area. But don’t know where to start.

I’m on a great wage at the moment, and have a few perks by way of commission etc. But I’m just not happy.

If any one has any thought as to avenues to look towards, it would be much appreciated.

Kinda Lost, love to here how you get on as well with you decision.

    Regards,

    Pip

You're not happy at what you do and you've found something you enjoy AND are very good at! Therefore, feck money and perks and get into that line of business. Work for an established landscaping company, maybe take a bit of wage hit but at least build experiance and see do you like it as a job. If things go well you could always go out on your own and start working for yourself!

Maybe take a nightcourse or FAS course in lanscape design and see how you feel? Approach people that do the job and ask do they like it, is the money good, are there any places looking to expand that you could get a job in maybe?

Now that you've found what you love, dont let it slip away!

Think of it like this -

One day you'll be lying in bed, knowing you're going to die soon. Will you be happy you thought you were "too old" or were "too scared" to change jobs? NO WAY! You'll be thinking, "I'm a stupid bastard. I should have done what my heart wanted me to do."

Don't let some stupid outside pressure stop you from being happy. Change career.

22 is hardly too old buddy.

I'm almost 26 and I've been working in IT since I graduated in 2002. I hate it and only realised recently that I need to change careers. I've always been interested in teaching and I've recently started a part-time course and next September I'll be a qualified primary school teacher.

Do it now and you won't regret it.

I made a change two years ago.
Finished leaving cert in 2002 and started working in banking sector.Just couldn't hack it,being inside, peering into a computer screen all the time.Said to heck with this.Started in construction, banking tower cranes and have been driving them for the last year. What can I say, love it:D !!
