Just reading a review in Tele-satellite of the Kathrein UFS 821 pvr unit. A nice feature it has is the ability to download a weeks worth of channel listings guide from TVTV which it downloads via sat and then stores on the HD.

    TV TV
Any idea how long Price 14,90 GBP sun lasts for ? Is that a year?

It works with the Hauppauge WinTV PVR products, but what about SkyStar1 / 2 or ordinary Hauppauge WinTV analog tuner?

Anyone know how it compares with Digiguide (12 GBP per year and can be scripted to work most applications for analog or Digital TV if they support event recording at all)?

The Kathrein UFS 821 seems to be about 495 Euro. Not bad for a twin satellite tuner 160Gbyte PVR that isn't subsidized and has no monthly rental (Sky+ is subsidized and costs €15 pm extra even if you have no Sky sub)

Don't know details of it, just that Kathrein have done a deal with tvtv, so it's free on Kathrein boxes. There are tvtv data TPs on Astra 19E and Astra 23E currently.
    DATA	111	12.604 H tvtv Digital AST01GKU 22000 5/6
    DATA	111	12.604 H tvtv Digital AST01GKU 22000 5/6
    DATA	G16	12.565 V tvtv Digital AST03AKU 27500 3/4

The Kathrein user manual gives a good idea of how it's implemented on their pvr.

Hello Sky! So why can't Mr. Sky let Sky+ users have EPG for free. Ordinary Digiboxes do.

I hope lots more good products with decent EPGs come out and maybe we will see sense on Sky+. I'd like a Sky PVR that still works when I cancel my Sub.
