What's the current state of play regarding pistol competitions at the moment?

The MNSCI have been running a pistol league for the past few months, is anything similar going on in other places?

We've run some air pistol matches in WTSC civ, but learnt that we need to get our ROs trained up for pistol (we had one army-trained for the last match and one from N.Ireland the match before, but it's not enough). Until that's done, I don't think we'll be holding any more. There's still training going on, but when there's only one person on the range, the risk is much reduced.

The NTSA are still running air pistol matches in UCDRC, and the official line is that all 10m matches from now on will include a pistol discipline; that's seen some contention from clubs that don't feel they have qualified ROs for pistol matches.

Haven't seen any .22 matches other than the ones in DRC. Haven't heard or seen of any 50m free pistol matches at all, nor of rapid-fire; just the 25m Standard Pistol (and Sport Pistol for the ladies).

Civ , we have the second leg of our PP comp in Newry next Saturday, with a Level 2 Comp in April. The Level 2 will also include a internationl match with the UK , I.P.S.A will run a selection shoot for the team sometime in March. Our Comp Licence courses are filling up quickly with the first 4 candinates gone through , and the next course ready to go. Sparks if we can assist in the RO department we would be more than willing to help in any comps WTSC are running. And of course the June Bank Holiday Shoot !!!
