Planning on heading this year, after hearing Roger Waters is playing Dark Side Of The Moon at it.

Any idea what would be the best way to get to Denmark from Ireland?

You do know Waters is playing Cork in June yeah?

One option is taking SAS from Dublin to Copenhagen, haven't a clue about prices but could cost a bomb.

Another option would be taking Ryanair from Dublin to Malmö, Sweden then ferrying over to Copenhagen (no, I'm not mad, the two cities are very close to each other). Knowing Ryanair this could work out alot cheaper if you're on a budget, and should be a laugh aswell.

Then I believe it's a short bus trip to Roskilde from Copenhagen, which should be easy to arrange.

SAS are usually quite reasonable to Copenhagen but the ryanair option is pretty good. You neednt worry about any ferry either...theres a bridge that links Copnhagen with Sweden and a trian that crosses it. The train from Malmo to Kobenhavn H (Copenhagen Central) is the same one as you would get from Kastrup (Copenhagen airport) to Kobenhavn H

    Swim?

Try SAS, or Aerlingus / KLM to Hamburg and get a train up into Denmark. I believe Ryanair also fly to some obscure airport near the Danish border, but I don't know what transport links out of that are like.

Ryanair fly to Luebeck but maybe they fly somewhere nearer to Denmark then that. Luebeck is about an hour to Hamburg (bus from airport to Luebeck train station, then train) - then you get a train up to Denmark easily.

Been to Roskilde Festival 5 times. Always Dublin to Copenhagen and you can get the train from the Airport (one change over required I think) to the Roskilde Festival Train station which is at the site! Easiest way suited me as when you are wrecked after a week camping etc. I always wanted the easiest and most direct route home.

    Its a great Festival - Enjoy.:D

I would also suggest Copenhagen airport having been to the festival as well. But again it depends on the prices.
Copenhagen airport(Kastrup) into Copenhagen Central station. Then change for a train to Roskilde. Not that far, maybe 40mins. Then a switch to the festival train which will get you closer.
If that's very expensive, maybe Ryanair to Malmo. Then the flygbussen (~6euro) to Malmo central station. There you can get a train over to Copenhagen central station in about 35 mins for about 9 euro. Of course you have to think of the return cost and also how tired you'll be.

Wine in tetra paks is a good suggestion. Cheap and lighter than beer. Otherwise a trip into Roskilde for beer. Don't lose the empty bottles though. It's a great festival. Hot showers for a price also available. I would suggest being there as early as possible. Say Tuesday. Otherwise you might be very far away in the camping. But again I had a great time and would go again if possible.
