Ok I may be missing something really simple here but how do you search the boards for something with 2 words like say '12 string'. I want to only see posts with '12 string' and not like someone selling a ball of string or someone who wants to meet a 12 year old!! :D

    Thanks

Well, unfortunately you can only search using words that are four or more characters. This is for practical and performance reasons - a search for the workd "and", for example, would make the database go a tad crazy.

If you use the advanced search, you can specify more clearly what you're looking for:
    http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/search.php
At the very least if you limit your search to the Music category, or even the Instruments forum, you know you'll be getting results for guitars (or other stringed instruments), and probably none to do with balls of string.

You won't be able to match "12 string" because of the character limit. However, if you search for "12-string", you may get a few results. It can help you to be more specific - if you're looking for shops that sell strings for 12-strings, then include the word "shop", if you're looking for someone who teaches 12-strings, then include the words "teach" or "learn", etc.

If all else fails, google it. You can search boards.ie specifically on google by putting in your search phrases, and then the text "site:boards.ie" at the end.
