Bus Éireann launches new Sunday bus services in Galway

Sunday services have commenced on a number of Bus Éireann routes in Galway, in response to customer demand for more off peak transport. Bus Éireann has extended its Monday-Saturday service to a 7 day operation on the No 7 and No 9 routes, which serve areas such as Doughiska, Ballybrit, Castlepark, the Galway Clinic, Ballinfoyle and Bóthar an Chóiste. The new services have just come into effect.

The move has been widely welcomed. Brian Connolly who has recently taken up the position of Area Manager, Bus Éireann, Galway, following the retirement of Jimmy Woolley said:

“Sunday shopping and leisure activities are becoming increasingly popular and there was a growing demand for Sunday services. I am pleased that Bus Éireann has been able to respond to that demand by expanding the timetable to a seven day service on these routes.”
