Ok i just downloaded this media player and omg is it good, its built from firefox :)
Songbird will likely be the next biggest music player. Built from Firefox, it is able to play files from websites, burn CDs and play your music, plus allow you to download extensions to modify the player.

    Check it out at http://www.songbirdnest.com/

Looks really good, must give it a shot! I've been looking for something like this, and its made by mozilla, which just rocks!

Looks like its not ready yet:

    v0.2 - Just A Few Weeks
    Mac & Linux binary installers
Public build & source control system
    Folder cleanup and jar encapsulation
    Rudimentary update system (maybe)
Multicore playback API (and if not PWMA @ 0.1.1, hopefully here)
    Centralized metadata reading
    Cheezy Video Window

I use VLC. Is there any big differences between the two?

Well I was going to say - "You can't beat the downright simplicity of Winamp 2.x"... eh, then I noticed the date in winamps about box... rofls, it's a build from June 2001... maybe things have advanced somewhat in the past five years, no?
Vintage software for teh win I say. :v:

seems like another itunes, i like the black theme and the mini player, but unless theres some really usefull extensions comes out for it i doubt i'll be dropping winamp in its favour

its far from finished, looks a bit bulky to me. Maybe when some new skins are released it'll look the business. Hopefully it will cross into Firefox too as a pluggin because within Songbird you can actually browse the web using firefox embeded into the player. The player automatically picks up any mp3's on the page and loads them into a playlist. See here.....
