Im a current subscriber to eircom broadband and was wondering if theres anyway to make it wireless. I think I saw an ad a while ago where katherin Thomas was saying something about a wireless adapter or something, cant remember to well as I wasnt to interested at the time. Does such a thing exist. It only needs to be wireless within the a few feet. And Im not interested in the wireless broadband advertised on TV. Thanks.

Yep just pick yourself up a wireless broadband router and it will do the job for you.

You can ring eircom and get them to send you out the wireless adapter and they will add it onto your next bill, think its around 50 euro but im sure you can pick one up just as easy in any tech shop, eircom shop etc and more than likely cheaper than 50 euro.

Then with your adapter ready to plug in, pop back in your blue installation disc that you would have used when you installed broadband first and keep going until you get to the step where it says that drivers are already installed and would you like to uninstall or continue with existing drivers. Choose the uninstall option and after it completes this it will prompt to restart pc. Do so and run the install program again but choose the wireless setup option when this arises and plug the adapter into the usb port when it asks and bobs your uncle, shouldnt have any problems.

BUT first make sure what modemn your using and that it supports wireless, i suspect its probably neptopia 3347w, you can verify by turning the modemn upside down and checking the sticker. Just either check with eircom or someone that knows that your modems is compatible or else you could have to wait for a new modem to be sent out.

    Hope this helps

Like what ASOK said just get yourself a Wireless Router!

    Or

A Wireless Access Point (Less Configuration, just plug it in and away you go)

Whichever you choose make sure you secure your network, you'd be surprised about how many leechers are around these days!!!

Open wireless networks are like a feast to these guys, only your left paying the bill!
