Can anyone give me an idea of the average recovery time for stenosis and disc replacement surgery.
My mother is having this surgery today, her T9,T10,T10 and two other discs I can't remember(in her neck) need to be replaced and she also has stenosis. What can she expect in terms of the length of recovery time and the actual rehab process?

Rehab depends on the surgery and the person. Nothing in medicine is definite and depends on the extent of the surgery and pre-existing problems and mobility. Its better to wait a week and then talk to the physiotherapist who will be involved with her to give you a general idea on the timeframe. This is a general idea as well and rehab can be fast or slow although everyone gets there in the end.

Well she came through it quite nicely, they plated and pinned and clean up her discs and she's now happy as a pig in $#/? but that's mostly the morphine I'm guessing, when they take her off that then we'll know what the pain is going to be like.
