Working in Dubai for the summer

    Anyone got any experience of the place?
    Want to head there for 4-5 months from may to oct
    anyone got any first hand experience bout expected wages costs accomodation etc
    hoping to work as a barman there wondering how easy/hard it would be to swing that ?

    Cousin worked for Emirates for a couple of years,and met her fiancé who worked as a bar man over there.(They are both irish)
    Wages were high and they loved it.

    I can't understand why anyone would want to go to Dubai, Such a kip.

    But anyway you will need to get sponsored by an Arab Business person (all business have arab sponsors). Since there is only one bar that is not in a hotel/Country Club in Dubai (The Irish Bar ) you will best check the hotels for work.

    If you are into Golf, Sailing, Tennis etc it should be possible to look into that. Perhaps also if you have Estate agentcy experience you could get some work since the prince is selling off loads of leases.

    You could go Illegal/holiday-visa but you would need to have contacts, plenty of work as prostitutes etc,

    Remember it get's really, really hot in Dubai in the summer time and most X-pats get out of the place for August if not July.

    Been to Dubai 50/60 time and still cant see the attraction of it.
