This is gas. This is from IP Jnr's own website - http://www.ipjr.net/default.asp

It is about an e-mail he received over his condemnation of the incidents at the Dublin v Tyrone match. Just compare the tone of both e-mails. Paisley makes no attempt at all at being civil, just immediately resorts to name-calling.

On 14 Feb 2006, at 13:41, laurence begley wrote:

    Mr Paisley jr,

I listened to your interview yesterday (13th Feb) on Today FM re the incidents at the Dublin-Tyrone Gaelic match.

Whilst I was surprised at 1) your interest in a sport which you have no involvement, nor never attended; and 2) an incident that did not happen in or around your constituency, I now look forward to hearing about you/your party's representations to the PSNI following the riot/thuggery/brawl at the Dungannon Swifts vs Portadown Irish Cup Soccer match last weekend.

If I do not hear anything I will have to assume that your sudden interest in the GAA match was nothing other than a chance to have a kick at the GAA and its followers.

Is it not time to move on from this nonsense? Take a look around you, it is 2006.

    Laurence Begley

    My response:

    Hi idiot,
obviously you only listened to the bits of the interview that suited you! If you had used those things on the side of your head - your ears - you would have heard me condemn soccer hooligans at the Linfield V Glens match last year and generally comment on violence at sporting fixtures. Why is it that you are so backward when it comes to hearing constructive criticism about violence at a GAA match. Where you not ashamed of what went on in the name of GAA sport two weeks ago?

According to your reasoning only GAA members can comment on GAA matters. Everyone else is excluded from even venturing an opinion on GAA unless it is drooling support and praise and you have the cheek to say its time to move on what a backward little Hitler you are!

I note you have set a criteria that I can only comment on matters that affect my constituency then you foolishly ask me to comment on the Portadown game. With small minded half wits like you not a bit of wonder the GAA is in the state its in. Maybe you got one or two smacks about the head at a GAA game that damaged your ability to think. Your views display you for what you are - incestuous, and inward looking. Perhaps thats why you cant see beyond your own petty viewpoint.

make whatever assumptions you want given your state of mind it hardly matters.

Is that actually his official web-site? If so, God help him - the guy has about as much tact as a 3-year old.

What do Mr & Mrs "Average Protestant" in the North really think about him? Does he hold the key to the future of Ulster :D or will his big mouth just disappear as soon as his father's does?

This man is a politician?? Can you imagine George Bush, or Tony Blair, or Bertie, publicly writing to someone and addressing the Dear idiot, it would be all over Sky News, before you could say 32 counties.

If thats the attitude he sees fit to portray then Mr Ian Og, your are the idiot.

Just emailed him the following..... (interesting to see if I get a response)

    Dear Mr Paisley.

I am a Republican who is 110% behind the peace process and never supported the killings and violence on this island. Yes you can be both!

I am shocked and appalled at you attitude of calling someone an idiot on your website, this to me sounds like someone who just has a major attitude problem, the gentleman you were responding to in no way, insulted or attacked you but merely put across is point.

I doubt you would ever hear of Mr. Ahern, Mr Blair, or indeed Mr George Bush address someone who wrote to them as an "idiot" that is what makes not only a real politician but a human being with common courtesy.

You will notice from above that no matter how annoyed with the situation I am, I believe I have remained courteous, calm and respectful.

    Regards

As much as I agree with what you've wrote there dbnavan... I'm afraid it won't make any appearance on the website nor a difference to Ian Óg's attitude. How a man as ignorant as himself got into politics is beyond me.

This is one of the milder ones, Nice attitude from Kenny. The fact is
Mr Beglal is an idiot. Just look at what he wrote as a reasoned
    argument.

    note : i inserted *'s not him

    my return reply

People in power will often recieve abuse especially in a position you
find yourself in, it is up to you to A) ignore it B) rise above it c)
show your intellegence and not stoop to their level, common things you
    tell a school child.

Good work db, but I fear you are p*ssing against the wind. The more attention you give people like this the more they feel entitled to inflict us with their opinions. Ignoring these people is quiet often the best tactic.

Sean Kelly/The GAA have done the right thing by ignoring this idiot.

I think its pretty fu*king hypocritical Ian Paisley Junior compalining about the GAA when he and his father have often stated that they don't know the colours of the county teams or any other piece of info related to the GAA.

On another page on the site I found this:

    Table 2
Party Share of the vote (North Antrim) in 2003 Assembly election
    Party Vote % Share
    DUP 20235 45.9%
    UUP 9538 21.6%
    SF/IRA 6195 14.0%
    SDLP 6009 13.6%
    AP 867 2.0%
    Ind 623 1.4%
    UKUP 402 0.90%
    PUP 230 0.50%

I think he forgot to add PUP/UVF and DUP/UDA :D

He isn't too much like his father. He said all that without the word 'never' appearing once.

Just on the subject of the match itself....

Did anyone find it annoying that Kelly had no problem condeming the actions of the two teams yet in the Aussie Rules match he came out with a quote:

"It looked a lot worse on the TV then it was in real life"
and failed to condem the Aussie players?

I mean talk about double standards!
