i played in the red cow tournament tonight..it was 65 entry fee with rebuy or top up for 60..
I DID NOT WIN ONE HAND THE WHOLE TOURNAMENT I WAS INVOLVED..

is that an appalling record or has any of ye had similiar ones like it..

1.every time i raised a player would either come over the top or call and hit while i missed my very marginal hands,,made few bluffs too but always got re raised,
2.the best hand i had in about 2/3 hours play was 99 which ran into AA,,
3.when all- in on flush draw with overcards to player who had bottom pair i missed-so had to rebuy
    4. got anted away with rags after never having opportunity to see flops and small stacks went all in
    5. last hand QJ V AK,,,, missed badly with my QJ,,

if this happens is it just not your night and take it at face value.
any advice on how to stop that happening or should i just gamble with rags to get roll going
    cheers

It just seems to me that when you tried to act and do something someone always had the cards in front of you! it happens. It won't always happen but just try and not dwell on it to much.

I was playing the 100+10 freezout game run by pot-luck-poker (a mate a mine) and the best hand I saw for the whole night was AKo and when I hit the flop in the face I couldn't get paid cause no-one had anything behind them.

I played the 3 hours and the only Ace I seen was A9 and A7 :( I just bluffed the odd turn at the table in order to stay alive. And when I did go all in when I was shortstacked with A7 I ran into A9 :( and was out.

I can honestly honestly say in 3 hours of play I did not have a pocket pair above 4's and never hit a set or a flush or straight, NOTHING :D

One thing that REALLY annoyed me is the standard of play was HORRID. I counted 3/4 RAISES at the final table. the shortstacks NEVER went in on a hand and were terrified of being the bubble, I can remember thinking to myself, "god nothing worse than bad players getting good cards and not having a clue how to play them"

you have bad nights and good nights.

Here, this is not only moaning about your bad luck and disguising it as a strategy question, but encouraging others to post their own tales of woe. Find the bad beat sticky and be happy that I don't moderate this forum.

Yes, because you had to read and comment on this thread roundtower.

How about you come down off your pedestal and let the mods do their job, if it's not fit to be posted Im sure they will be the ones to see to it's deletion.

I wasn’t parading my bad beats I was simply backing up his original post by saying IT HAPPENS.

If I wanted to post this up about my bad beat I would have done so on the Friday when it happened all of three days ago. I’m quite aware of the threads where moaning should be posted. I’m sure you could perhaps warrant some human error towards the initial poster seeing as he has all of 10 posts.

Be thankful I don’t MODERATE this forum, I’d see fit to remove obnoxious beings such as you in an instant.

That sounds like a good idea. Also, I would like to hug some snakes. Yes, I would hug and kiss some poisonous snakes.

To be honest I think this thread has more value than just a bad beat story. Happened to me the first live tourney I played and knocked me for a while into believing I was a crap player - I wasn't ....these things just happen. I think it is good for newer players to understand this....

lol, good old line that. In fairness, if a misplaced thred is the most of your worries, count yourself lucky. Anyway, i have had many tournies like this. Its just simply harsh luck.

The last time it happened to me was last week. It has happened lots of other times, and I would not rate myself as a terrible tournament player. These things happen, sometihmes because you have appalling cards the whole tournament, or you get horribly outdrawn each time you do play a hand.

Personally I would be happy if you did moderate the forum. You could dish out long/permanent bans to any "obnoxious being" who considers Omaha pure luck, and akin to a day at the races.

    poisonous snakes:D
