    Can someone remind me what to do in this situation, leave card in box powered off(standby) for 24 hours correct??

    yes, leave box in card. could take 2 hours, could take 48 hours and make sure box is unplugged from the phone line

    I don't think it matters whether the box is in standby or in use. When the box is in standby, it's still in semi-full use, just video/audio outputs are switched off.
