sure my camera screen has been smashed since the week after i got it, and my stuffs grand without it..

The lcd display on the a350 controls focus and everything though so I'm pretty screwed without it. For me to take a proper shot, I have to press each setting and take a shot, because I don't know what setting I'm picking, I just know I'm changing them. I was trying to take a photo of a card yesterday, it took 30 shots and only 3 were in focus!

Any ideas on brand rankings? Oh and if the title is misleading, I'll be paying for it myself, I'd just like some help with the window shopping:o

good reviews .. should help you choosing :-)

    Thanks for the reply.

I'm not actually looking for a particular camera. Just a bargain:) I wont have time to read reviews and compare if I spot a bargain, I'll have to get ready to bid then and there.

Which of the above brands would be best choice for this price range? I forgot Casio and Konica:)

Would anyone know what the best brand to go for would be?:o

If you're looking for a bargain go with what you can find for that money... you're budget is quite limited to go for a specific kind of brand. But I'd go for Canon, Nikon, Kodak or Sony. Good luck

If you're just "looking for a bargin", why would you care? It's not going to be the best camera, it's not going to be worth a lot of money, why worry?

Well I don't care if it's used or not, in fact, I'd prefer a better used one than a worse brand new one for the same price:) I always like to get the best out of my money;)

    Hi,
I just won an auction for this camera. Should work out to be about €60 delivered.

Is that good or bad? Can I pull out if I don't want to go ahead with it/find something better?

You can't pull out of auctions on e-bay. It warns you of that when you bid as far as I remember. You could simply not pay but you'll get negative feedback and the like obviously.

The A350 is far, far superior. That is a 2MegaPixel camera with no digital zoom.

Did you look into getting the A350 repaired? I guess the warranty wouldn't cover the repair?

    Hi,
    Thanks for the reply.

I didn't really think before bidding:(

The A350 would cost me over €100 to repair, considering I paid less than the repair charge, I don't really want to opt for that. I see damaged cameras selling for about $40/50 on Ebay, I reckon I could get about $50 for the A350.

I reckon I got an excellent deal in the first place with the A350, but I just can't spend any more time waiting for a similar deal to come up, I must have spend over 3 hours so far looking for a nice deal on Ebay.

Is €60 delivered ok for the one I got do you reckon?

What do you think of this or this deal?

What about a Fuji S560? Or Fuji S7000? Both cheap enough.

The S5600 going for 237 euro, comes with a free mini tripod, camera bag, extra batterys, cables/strap, lens cap, etc! Oh, and it seems to be brand new also!

I think they are way out of my budget unfortunately:( I've emailed the seller asking would he like to relist in the hope of getting a higher bid. If not, I'll go ahead with the sale, if so, I'll get something else.

    Ooops:o

I've just gone and won another auction on Ebay for an Olympus D-535 Digital Camera.

It will work out at about €75 delivered.

Damn, I've contacted the seller of the other one apologising and I've also contacted the 2nd highest bidder of the other one asking would s/he like to take over. Hopefully there wont be a problem and everyone will be happy.

I think I got a much better deal here.

A 2MP Canon with no optical zoom versus a 3.2MP Olympus with 3x optical zoom? Why would you stick with the Canon? It's not like it's a Canon versus some no name brand.

I don't think Shrimp was saying to go with the first auction I won, but to go and win another one for a Canon, the first one I won was a Fuji, I think he just wanted to get me banned from Ebay or sumthin:p

Why oh why must I post while that tired. *coughs* Carry on...
