Can an ex employer intentionally hold back on not issuing me with a P45 after i've left their employment? (Their just playing at silly buggers).

    Is this legal?

    Legally- no they can't.
Realistically- a lot of them do.
If you want to speed them up, just ring your local tax office and request your p45.
The Tax people always get really annoyed with employers for holding back p45's. They will contact your past employer, read them the riot act, and you will have it in a day or two.

This is based on personal experience (more than once).

    Good luck

Happened with my last job, nasty people, luckily I got it in time for my first paycheck.
