BDO Darts coming to Eurosport

A number of the BDO tournaments are to be televised live on Eurosport. 8 or 9 tournaments from the quarter-finals on are expected to be shown. Details to come out in the next couple of days apparently.

I wonder if Barnveld knew this before he joined the PDC. I'd say he probably did but the temptation of playing Taylor on a regular basis plus weekly tv coverage via the premier league sealed the deal.

British Eurosport steps up to the Oche

A series of international darts tournaments will broadcast live on British Eurosport from next month following a deal with the World Darts Federation.

Players from the WDF and British Darts Organisation will be shown competing in a series of international events, starting on Saturday March 11th with coverage from the Finland Open at 5pm.

The coverage will centre on the closing stages of each event from the quarter-finals through to the final.

Action from earlier rounds and evening highlights will also be broadcast on sister channel British Eurosport 2.

The deal follows the increasing popularity of the sport across Europe and will feature players in the WDF Top 20, including number 1 ranked Martin Adams and Mervyn King and Tony Eccles.

Other events scheduled for the channel include the following:

German Open – 22nd April – British Eurosport 2

Welsh Open – 21st May – British Eurosport and British Eurosport 2

Swiss Open – 3rd June – British Eurosport 2

Belgium Open – 22nd July – British Eurosport and British Eurosport 2

Norway Open – 5th August – British Eurosport and British Eurosport 2

British Open – 17th September – British Eurosport and British Eurosport 2

Sweden Open – 25th November – British Eurosport and British Eurosport 2

British Eurosport is the most widely available sports channel in the UK reaching over 10 million homes.

It is broadcast on Sky channel 410, NTL channel 112, Telewest channel 521 and on Freeview through Top Up TV channel 33.

British Eurosport 2 is available on Sky channel 411, NTL channel 811, Telewest channel 525.
