Just got one of these receivers for the folks. After reading the manual, there are two things I am unclear and perhaps someone can clarify:

They have a DVD player as well but only one scart input on the TV set,. The Fortec unit has a Scart out to TV and scart for a VCR. If the DVD player is connected to the VCR scart on the sat reciever will it playback to the TV?

There is a RF in for a standard aerial connection. Can you programme up the terrestrial stations onto the box and just use the one remote?

unfortunately the answer to both questions is no.

the scart socket marked vid is for recording sattelite on your video its an output only.

get a simple scart switcher from maplins or any other tv shop which will allow you to switch between the sat & dvd player.

the rf in is used to carry the rf signal from the ariel into the tv it wont let you tune rte tv3 tg4 into the reciever.

Now the parents are really going to be confused!

The RF tuning would have been handy (they will still use the outdoor aerial for UTV/C4).

Looping the DVD through the receiver would have got around the the single scart problem on the TV. Oh well!
