Scanner software? Any recommendations?

Just wondering if anyone has any recommendations for software for an epson perfection 3490 scanner. (i think thats the model number). The supplied software keeps fecking up and i'm looking to try an alternative.

Use the TWAIN import functionaility of an imaging app. like Photoshop,etc. ?

Care to recommend any nice point-and-scan software though? Is there anything thats especially easy to use for the old parents. The epson software would be good except for the fact it keeps complaining it's running out of HD space and "memory" in spite of the fact theres over 15gigs free, and plenty of free ram :rolleyes:
