Computer turns off by itself

    Hey, My computer keeps turning itself off during any game after about 20 minutes sometimes quicker. Anyone have any ideas about this. I dont know what has casued this as no software changes have occured, possibly maybe a new directx or something, but nothing else.
    Any ideas?

    Might be auto restarting on errors (System Properties->Advanced Tab->Startup and Recovery Settings, see if "Automatic restart" is checked.
    Leaving this unchecked probably won't fix the problem though, you could just get BSODs instead.

    Could your games be overheating your CPU/Graphics card?
    That would probably pack your sytem in.

    Sound''s like overheating alright. Check to see that the heatsink hasn't come loose or is damaged.

    Whats the PSU like? If its a poor one, it gets warmer and warmer under stress. The heat can make it more inefficient to give your machine the juice it needs. You enter a vicious circle in that the PSU just gets hotter and hotter until it gives up the ghost calls time out!
