As the title says, The Sunday Times is giving away a free copy of Donnie Darko (Director's Cut) with today's paper. Just heard an ad on the radio for it.

Is it in the paper, or is it some kind of post away for it gig??

Can't believe such a good film is being offered for nothing so soon after its release.

It's free with the paper. No coupons etc., probably in a sleeve pack but still grand for free. The movie was going fairly cheap for the last year or so. This is the Director's Cut.

Have it already. Worst 12 euro I ever spent.

Thanks Shamrok, will nip down to gas station for that asap. Wonder how this is going to affect its 'cult' status??

I think you get a free month trial with Screenclick too = you'd be lucky to get 2 DVD's from the feckers!

As for Donnie Darko DVD, got the original R1 edition and the R2 Director's Cut. One of my favourite films!

I kept hearing people go on about it so I bought the DC one day. I thought the story and direction were first class rubbish.

The Director's Cut is inferior to the original - doesn't add much except a couple of eye shots.

But i saw 'Donnie Darko' before all the hype.. bought it when the R1 DVD first came out and i feckin' loved it.

And gets even better with repeated viewings. Has it all: comedy, elements of sci-fi, horror and the soundtrack kicks feckin' ass..

"I'll tell you what he said - he asked me to forcibly insert the Lifeline exercise card into my anus!"

I rented it a few years ago and had to watch it twice coz it was so good.

    Are screenclick that bad?

Maybe not as bad as i stated but pretty feckin' bad!

A month free trial may get you 5 - 6 DVD's if you're really lucky.

I'm presuming thats if you're watching them straight away and returning ASAP?

I guess you would want to be well into movies with enough free time to watch lots to get the value of it.

    Well.. basically yes!

Found CDWOW's Rental Service much superior to be honest but a free trial is a free trial so try them both out and see which one you get the better service out of.

Thanks, I'll keep it in mind (if I ever work thru the ton of movies I've taped off telly!!!)
