This is a thread for providing information on legal resources, both online and otherwise. Probably one of the best open access sites for research is:
www.bailii.org

LexisNexis (TM) International - This is possibly the best online legal resource, but you need a username and password for this. Most professionals and students will be able to access this site.

UCD Legal Resources - This is a fairly comprehensive list in itself. UCD students should be able to access all of the sites, but other people may not be able to.

There are plenty of others, so all are welcome to post them up, and I'll put some more up later.:)

Users should be aware of the following:

This database does not refer to amendments effected prior to 1922.

Attention is drawn to Part 5 (ss. 19 - 22) of the Interpretation Act 1937 (No. 38 of 1937), in relation to the effects of repeals and revocations in Acts of the Oireachtas and instruments made partly or wholly thereunder.

Attention is also drawn to section 2 of the European Communities Act 1972, which provides that the Treaties and other acts of the Communities are binding on the State and are part of its domestic law.

Could anyone recommend a site with a lot of Irish case-law? I'm doing a project on discrimination/bullying in the workplace, and need a good few examples.

Bailii and irlii for free stuff... if you're in a college then you might have the proxies to go on justis.com or westlaw.ie - all great for Irish cases

Courts.ie also have a limited amount of case-law (but it's free )

A shameless plug, but IRLII (www.irlii.org) now has keywords for some 2005 and all 2006 cases.

It also has an index of articles in Irish Legal Periodicals.

Will they be uploading the actually articles anytime soon? And how are you involved with irlii (if you don't mind me asking)?

It is a very part-time job/hobby. I got involved as an undergrad and sort of been at it since. The Department of Law in UCC (who originally hosted BAILII) and other institutions/professional bodies fund its upkeep. I guess I am the developer/adminstrator.

I tend to get at lest one email a week asking if we will ever put articles online. In short we would love to, and some articles from the Bar Review, Cork Online Law Review and Law Society Gazette are there. However most other journals are published by commercial publishers and they would not take too kindly to their material being made available free of charge.

www.firstlaw.ie is also another commerical resource that has not been mentioned.
