I never knew they animated The Dark Knight Returns.

It must just be from an episode as they only made 3 movies.

Looks great... shame some twit put that awful music over theit.

its from the animated series of batman and robin.

There's an episode which follows 3 kids talking about batman and theres two different stories of batman

One describes batman as he was like in the batman tv series and the animation is drawn to look like the really old spiderman cartoons and its full of stupid gadgets and good wholesome family values (and is very very camp) with the stupid riddles and clues etc.

Another describes him as he is like in Dark knight returns.

the third doesnt get a chance cause they run into firefly and they show batman as the cartoon series has portrayed him.

its called legends of the dark knight.

There are some great moments, such as a kid named Joel who goes on about how fancy and tight rubber with muscles he is with a flashy car that can drive up walls. and the other kids tell him to shut up.

    great episode.

    its easy to find *cough*

I lost interest in the series when it bacame Legends of the Dark Knight. I felt in gerneral the episodes had been dumbed down a great deal..

But I didn't know they had anything like the episode you described.. I'll have to have another look.

This has already been posted in the comics forum!

But anyway, it kind of mis-represents what happens in the Dark Knight Returns. But you can read that for yourselves. And everyone should; it is a truly awesome piece of fiction.

That ep always reminded me of a story from the comic strip called "The Batman Nobody Knows" where three kids sit around a campfire describing what Batman is like.

Anway wrt LotDK I esp like the way they got a dig in at Joel Schumacher :)
