cant believe newcastle arent winning, ameoibi has wasted too many chances, bring luque on for him

Not a great game, Newcastle vs. Southampton. Newcastle keep threatening but with Shearer out, there's no real killer touch at the top. Southampton's young Polish 'keeper has had to make a couple of good saves though. I'm happy for Kieron Dyer, his first start since August and he's looking very bright.

N'Zogbia cuts open the defence and plays in Dyer to score. 1-0

i think if luque started we would of gotten a few more goals, ameobi is just pure ****e, he has two left feet, did anyone see him protest for a free kick when it was clear that he tripped over his donkey legs?! he is also constantly offside!
im so pleased to see dyer play a great game and get a goal, hes nowhere near playing 90 minutes but he can now get his fitness up. hopefully we get a home draw on monday!

Southampton really should of scored in that match. 3 excellent chances and they didnt take one.

Ahh, another Newcastle fan, welcome :)

I don't know what it is about Ameobi, but he never seems to play with any conviction. He never takes a chance and makes a run to the front post, he always goes backpost and hopes for the tap in. I wonder who we will buy in the summer to replace Shearer (I want us to buy Yakubu!!)?

Luque, needs some more game time and he will be class.
Dyer looked great for someone with practically no first team football for a year. I was just waiting for him to pull up with his hamstring when he was hairing after balls over the top.

hey evilhomer thanks for the welcome mate, i presume your a toon fan too?!
yeah luque is class, i have this 10 min clip of all his best bits for deportivo the lad is pure class. did ya see the qucik free he took that nearly went in today, i thought it was in! good thinking by him imo! he should start for charlton on wednesday as shearer wont risk wednesday.

how come Shay wasn`t captain today, was sure he`d b next in line and well ahead of Parker, as they dont really have any other true leaders, Dyer mayb in a years time or so.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,312 ✭✭✭Limerick Dude

scott parker has that drive about him though, he always gets stuck in and gives 100% every game, maybe roeder thought if he made him captain that parkers dedication would rub off on everyone else.

Parker used to be Captain of Charlton, before his move to Chelsea and he was unbelievable for them week-in week-out.
Maybe Roeder thought that he could get a little extra out of him if he was captain?

Richards snatches an equaliser in the 94th minute for City against Villa!

    A simply brilliant open game.
Can't believe how City squandered all their chances (over 20 shots on goal!) but with Villa to steal one.
Fully deserved equaliser and fair play to the young lad.
I bet the City fans who left just before that corner are sick! :p

Only watched the last 25 mins or so, I thought both teams were piss poor some shocking passing/ball control.
