Disk Drive gone?

hi i just bought a labtop, and everything was A ok. then about a week in, the disk drive disapeared of my screen. i couldn't load any c.ds, the disk drive icon wasn't coming up in my computer. i tried adding hardware in control pannel. no luck. so if any one has any idea's in what happened, let me know. thanks
