Haven't they been and gone since their last album was released? I'd say it won't be this year anyway. Ambassador gig was pretty good but they're so repetitive live I think I've seen them enough.

They are expected to play Slane but that has all been discussed before.

People say metallica are greedy comin here for the third time in bout 3-4 years(calendar years) and nobody notices Green Day played here three times in the ONE year. They should sit at home, not write an album but just sit and think which different songs should they play. The same gig three times in ONE year. But to answer your question, no information on anything but rumoured for Slane(oh dear god no)

Yeah but unlike Metallica(tm) with their 3 copy/paste gigs, at least Green Day had the decency to play different venues while actually promoting an album or single. Oxegen was a festival so that can't count as their own gig.

i really hope they play slane, but i would love to see them play in a smaller club-like venue

Yeah they're more than likely playing Slane this year...the Chillis are playing Oxegen.

Haha, like the "tm" thingy. So bands now go on tour to promote singles now do they? Maybe Green Day do! It doesnt matter that bands play the same places though. The venue has to suit and RDS suits Metallica. Why do you think they dont play the Point anymore? As for the copy/past gigs comment, the kings of that are Green Day. They played the exact same set three times, no other bands. Now thats copyin/pastin.

Come on man, Green Day have played the SAME live show now for the past 8 years, so no matter if it was 2004 or 1998 you still saw the same show

How the **** could that be possible? In 1998 they were only playing stuff off Dookie, Insomniac, Nimrod and maybe one song off Kerplunk! Now they're playing stuff off Kerplunk!, Dookie, Insomniac, Nimrod, Warning:, American Idiot and various cover songs. They've also got a second guitarist, Jason White playing with them live now along with more additional musicians.

See the difference? - The show has changed.

Aside from a couple of new album tracks added on, the Green Day live act was identical for years. It's only since American Idiot that it's changed that substantially.

It was always a decent show, much like Metallica's.

I've only seen Green Day twice.(4 years between) Both times it was a great show, but the setlist is pretty much the same except now they've replaced te Warning songs with American Idiot songs. And they play We Are the Champions too. Other than that its all the same.

They needed him cos Billy Joe is a crap guitarist and does nothin with it anymore. If you have seen it, its the new lad who mainly plays. And he didnt write anything on the album, they just have him for the tour cos Billy Joe cant sing and play guitar at the same time. And as for his solo's, well, attempts at solos, disgraceful. thats all he does with the guitar

False. He can, but he just ditches the guitar for songs such as Jaded, where I imagine it would be hard to sing and play at the same time.

Billy Joe ia a good guitarist. He's recorded all the guitar parts on all their albums and I think he's done a pretty good job of it.
As for Jason White, he's aslo a really good guitarist. He doesn't play all Green Day's songs with them live. Listen to the two of them play in Pinhead Gunpowder.
