Recently I've had problems shutting down the computer and restarting it over the past week or so. I can't figure out what is causing it. What happens is that it freezes on the P4 screen when the computer starts back up and thats it. Any suggestions what might be causing this to happen?

have you tried the obvious virus/adware/spyware scans?

sounds more like a device failing to start up though, maybe run a scandisk on your hard-drive. could be a problem there

another option is to try a system restore...

That would be the best way to do it. If it worked last week then you should do a restore to last week, and it might work. I cant think of what is causing this but I'm nearly 100% sure that a System Restore would work

If the System restore doesn't work, then do a scandisk, as there might be an error there

I had the same problem a few weeks ago. Its a problem with a virus that got onto your machine and it just wont let windows start up.

Only thing you can do is do a full restore or format c: and re-install windows. I done the latter and my computer is owrking fine now, well it was just lost my power supply so i have to go buy me one of those.
